Go to a professional qualification as an FSC to raise the level of UCSB. It is a great school, but also a difficult financial environment.

Two of my friends are in investment banking and employers are always looking for that something extra, while the recruitment of candidates.

Collect internship opportunities as soon as possible. Experience counts a lot in this industry.

In this context, it is very difficult to get a job in investment banking. The industry is low in a species. I have a friend who just completed the Wharton University of Pennsylvania. and she has trouble finding a job. Honestly do not think UCSB is good enough to get a job in the major investment banks: Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Bear Stearns (now JP Morgan), Meryil Lynch (now Bank of America). But he might be able to get a job at a lesser-known investment bank. are't except that many left .... First Boston (left) ... Lehman Brothers (left) ... Drexel Burnham ).... (Last, you could Pipper Jaffery investmnet or a bank with a branch office (other than try to BA and JPM) and the German Bank, Nomura and UBS .... Who knows. But I will investment banks tend to recruit from Ivy League ... the college days are over ... Anyway, I think we still have a shot by now, 4 years after completion of the UCSB
